Nutrition is by far the biggest factor that will affect any physical transformation. From gaining muscle to cutting fat.

NUTRIENT TIMING

So here's the deal, nutrient timing is all about strategically timing our meals to optimize our body's response to nutrition. It turns out that when and what we eat can play a significant role in promoting anabolism (the building of new muscle tissue) and maximizing muschle gain. That's where eating around training times comes into play.

When we engage in physical exercise, especially strength training, our muscles undergo stress and microdamage. This creates an ideal environment for muscle repair and growth. By consuming the right nutrients at specific times, we can enhance this process and potentially accelerate our progress.

TRACKING = PROGRESS

An important part of making this work is taking time to track everything you are doing. From training, to sleep, nutrition, mood etc. Personally I like to use our Days of Thundr Journal. Sure there are a ton of apps out there you can use to help track things but there is something primally satisfying about taking pen to paper to track habits. 

The Days of Thundr Journal has in depth breakdowns for your day so you can really dive into habits that help or hinder your training progress.

SHRED FOR SUCCESS

PREPARATION MATTERS

As with anything the old saying "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail" applies to our training and nutrition as well so here are a few quick tips to help you prepare to succeed:

  1. Figure out a system to help you in advance of starting your journey such as setting aside a specific day of the week to meal prep
  2. Get some Tupperware and a cooler bag so you can take your meals with you to work or anywhere else you need them
  3. Create a series of easy to-go meals that you know you'll always have the ingredients on hand for
  4. Know what your plan will be if you forget to take your meals to work or out and about with you
