First of all Muscle Anarchy isn't just a regurgitation of a different methodology. Muscle Anarchy is, in itself, a method of training. One that has been carefully crafted and developed over countless hours and years of research, study, conversation, training, and hard work. 
 
Muscle Anarchy was born out of a need, mine, to keep training, and continue to see real results even as time presses in and tries to rob us all of our virility. This is the beginning of the Muscle Anarchy story.

The Beginning

In my athletic career I was a professional baseball player turned long time Crossfit competitor and coach. I was regarded as one of the strongest CrossFitters in the world. After years of pushing my body in the sport of fitness, I stopped responding to the training that had made me remarkably fit. I began to break down. A chronic debilitating back injury left me unrecognisable, and a shell of the athlete that I once was. Even worse, I started to lose my confidence. My personality changed and I started getting down on myself. After back surgery at 38 years old, doctors told me I shouldn’t ever lift heavy again. Unfortunately, this is a very common story.

After going through a grieving period I began to look at training differently. I knew there had to be a way to find success in the gym again. There had to be a way to continue to see improvement in my strength and physique. The more I searched the more I realized that muscle IS the currency of longevity. Building quality muscle mass fortifies and supports the common areas of orthopedic breakdown. Muscle mass increases performance by raising your contractile potential, giving you the hardware you need to safely express force. Finally, accumulating lean mass increases your metabolism, improves your composition, and supports a healthy endocrine and immune system.

So I set out to create a method that would result in the world’s ultimate performance bodybuilding program, one that would blend form and function focused on addressing these 2 questions:

  1. How to continue to train hard as I get older without hurting myself?
  2. How do I continue to see progress when the old ways have stopped working?
