As the CEO of Thundrbro, I’ve always been passionate about fitness and helping others achieve their best selves. Recently, I embarked on a new chapter in my personal health journey: Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). After sharing my initial steps in this journey, I wanted to provide an update on how things have been progressing, the challenges I've faced, and the positive changes I've experienced.

Confronting My Fear of Needles

One of the first hurdles I encountered was a reminder of my severe dislike for needles (despite being tattooed, but different kind of needle). The thought of regular injections initially made me break out in a sweat. Thankfully, I have an amazing wife who stepped in to help me with the process. Her support and patience allowed me to adjust to the experience, and over time, the injections became less daunting.

The Synergy of HRT, Training, and Nutrition

It’s crucial to understand that HRT alone isn't a magic solution that will completely transform your body or life. The therapy needs to be paired with proper training and nutrition protocols to truly be effective. Fortunately, I already had a strong foundation thanks to the regular routine of Thundrbro programs.

Open Conversations and Realistic Expectations

Before starting HRT, I had an open conversation with Dave, discussing expectations and learning from his experiences. We also talked about the importance of cleaning up my nutrition. Despite being a coach and a longtime fitness enthusiast, I realized I could improve my diet further to address my gut issues. Simplifying my meals to high-quality, nutrient-dense foods has made a noticeable difference.

Additional Supplementation

It is worth mentioning that my HRT provider also discussed additional vitamins and supplements to help enhance the benefits of the HRT program. This helped me to feel even more at ease as it showed an understanding of a whole health thought process. By recommending fish oil, B12, vitamin D along with other supplements (a large number I was already taking but some I wasn't) it raised my confidence level that I was making a smart decision for my long term health.

Early Benefits: Energy and Focus

One of the first positive changes I noticed was a decrease in fatigue levels and a boost in focus. While I didn’t experience any dramatic shifts in fitness, the mental clarity and energy levels were significantly improved. These changes, although subtle, have had a profound impact on my daily life and productivity. This shift also greatly improved my emotional state as well. I found that with the uplift in energy and focus my mood became more positive which helped my relationships quite a bit.

Staying True to My Goals

I want to reiterate that my goal with HRT is not to get huge. Instead, I’m seeking a return to the virility, energy, and clarity that had been on a decline. So far, the experience has been positive, and I am cautiously excited to see how things progress.
